What Happens When You Walk Outside
Earthing is slowly becoming a real thing.
It means that moment where your physical touch is actually present with the Earth. That’s where you connect with the living, breathing, earth. Without going all granola on you, let me explain why it really makes sense.
If you think about it, it's actually a rare occasion in many modern day lives. Some people live in tall 6+ story buildings, take the elevator down to their parking garage, then get in their car, and drive to the next parking garage at their office. Then for the next 8 hours they will be sitting under florescent lighting and ventilated air. In some better cases some people will make a trip to the gym before the morning or after work, but again in a closed space with artificial air. Where is are the moments of being outside breathing, feeling, and connecting with what is real?! No contact with the sun for vitamin D, no fresh air to clear the respiratory system, and no contact with the ACTUAL earth.
When I think of this it makes it that much easier to understand how we are so disconnected from nature Or even our natural thinking processes And intuition.
Everything is programmed, wired, and SO fast paced. Its no wonder we have to hire a therapist to help US think for ourselves out loud.
A great inspiring lecturer Daniel Vitalis of ReWild Yourself made a great point that if you think about a fish tank as being the equivalent of our current ecosystem but for a fish- what is more important, the clean air filter in the water or the kelp leaves you feed the fish? Or what about the light on the aquiarium or the kelp leaves? Or how about the cleanliness of the water or the kelp leaves? Even if those leaves are 100% organic, locally grown in season, and sprinkled with super foods, that fishes environment is going to have a much bigger effect on its life than the food.
To get back in touch with our intuition and natural thinking patterns, I think step number one is to get back to nature. Take a walk to grab your morning coffee, take a few deep breaths through the park or somewhere green, drink spring water first thing in the morning, talk a walk after your lunch break or to get your lunch to receive some sunlight. Instead of crowding in at the gym, go outdoors and make nature your playground.
SO GET OUTSIDE TODAY and connect with something bigger
In Love,
Pep
